Royal New Zealand Air Force, 427 (R.C.A.F.) Sqdn.

On 22 June 1943 at 11.22 pm, the Handley Page Halifax DK225 "ZL-J" of 427 Squadron took off from Leeming in Yorkshire to take part in an attack on Müllheim.
At 1.22 am the Halifax was shot down by a German night fighter and crashed near Oostmijzen.
Only the navigator was able to jump out of the aircraft and was taken prisoner of war.
