Born 8 April 1924, son of Johannes Gerardus Pas (Zeddam 19-9-1887 - Arnhem 5-4-1953) and Catharina Elisabeth Augustina Puntman (Arnhem 28-8-1897 - 1-1-1997).
Tonny Pas engaged in minor resistance activities. However, these were probably not the reason for his arrest on 1 September 1944 (other sources speak of 9 September). After graduating from the Crafts School, he went to the HBS in Doetinchem. However, he did not have the necessary exemption for labour deployment and this was presumably seen by the Germans as an attempt to evade it.
He was detained as prisoner 6714 in Camp Amersfoort and from there deported to KZ Neuengamme near Hamburg. There he died on 15 December 1944. A colon condition is given as the cause of death but it is suspected that he actually perished under the miserable conditions in the camp. Tonny Pas was cremated in the camp and no personal grave is known of him.
A Stolperstein was placed on the pavement of his former home at (now) Vinkwijkseweg 21 in Zeddam in 2025 in his memory.
