Citation:
"This officer was parachuted into Belgium on 10th April 1944 as W/T operator attached to the headquarters of the Secret Army. He was called upon to handle traffic of the highest importance and of a volume which only a first class W/T operator could manipulate. Within 12 days of his arrival in the field, he had established his links with London H.Q. and he operated without interruption until the liberation of Belgium.
He was transferred in June 1944 to the chief of Zone IV of the Secret Army, where, owing to D-Day and post D-Day plans the presence of a really first class operator was vital. He remained in this zone until the end of hostilities.
His outstanding qualities as a W/T operator won him the respect and praise of all his superiors. He worked with quiet enthusiasm and determination and ?ered himself no effort on the most difficult circumstances to make sure that the volume of W/T traffic was ? with a minimum of delay and a maximum of efficiency.
It is recommended that Lieut. BLAZE be appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (Mil)(Hon)."
