Biography

Jeanne Baudray, then 19 years old, was one of the first French civilians to offer assistance to the British RM commandos during Operation Frankton.

She served in the French army from 1944 to 1946, rising to cadet rank and guiding troops during the Carnot Brigade offensive in April 1945. A feminist and political figure, she became North Médoc’s first female mayor in 1994.
