Biography

Yves Ardouin, oyster farmer by profession, was a French fisherman-overseer at Saint-Vivien-de-Médoc who on 7 December 1942 assisted two British RM commandos and was thus partly responsible for their successful return to England. Ardouin, who knew of a nearby German installation, sent the commandos 200 metres further upstream. He also managed to give the commandos some food via a detour.
