Biography

Groen was a chemist and became manager of the sugar factory in Dinteloord in 1921. In 1932 the family moved to Bilthoven.

Groen was a freemason and active in the resistance. In 1943 he was arrested by the SD, his wife a day later. She was eventually released, but he was sent to Dachau via Camp Vught, where he died of typhus on 1 February 1945. His name is mentioned in the memorial books of the War Graves Foundation and on the resistance monument in Bilthoven.
