Citation:
"Lieutenant Sereni was parachuted behind the enemy lines in May 1944, as wireless operator to the Senior British Liaison Officer to the French Forces of the Interior in South East France.
He established wireless contact with the British base station in North Africa within 48 hours of his arrival, and from June until September worked on average three schedules a day, coding and sending out as many as twenty messages each time.
Htoughout this period, although hunted by the Germans day and night Lieut. Sereni maintained communications without a break. This vital link made possible the close coordination of effort between the French Forces of the Interior in the south east of France and the Allied Forces landing on the Mediterranean coast.
In recognition of his valuable services it is recommended taht this officer should be appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (Honorary)."
