Biography

Wim Luyten was from Dordrecht. He came from a family with ties to the Reformed resistance movement based at the Wilhelmina Church in Dordrecht, which after the war became known as the Resistance Church. He was active in the resistance, participating in sabotage operations, among other things. His sister Wilhelmina “Mies” and his brother Bertus were also active in the resistance. After the war, Wim Luyten was awarded the Resistance Memorial Cross.
