Unteroffizier Rudolf Wilhelm succumbed to injuries sustained during a forced landing of his Messerschmitt 109 in Anna Paulowna on May 13, 1940, at the age of 25 in the Alkmaar hospital. He was buried at the Alkmaar General Cemetery on May 16, 1940. After the war, he was reburied in Ysselsteyn.
