Biography

Sergeant Thomas Alfred George, Son of Robert Edward and Julia Gertrude George. Husband of Eveline George, of Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, England.Wireless Operator / Air Gunner, Short Stirling I, W7508, OJ-D 149 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.

On the return flight from a mission to Essen from RAF Lakenheath, his Short Stirling was shot down by a German night fighter and crashed at l'Ecluse, 10 km south-west of Tienen (B). Six of the eight crew members were killed in the crash and are buried at the Canadian War Cemetery in Adegem.
