Biography

Son of William Henry and Bertha Mary Weese of Belleville, Ontario; husband of Marjorie Jean Weese of Belleville. Pilot Officer RCAF, Airgunner Vickers Wellington HE545 AS-H, RAF 166 Squadron.

Killed in action after his aircraft was shot down by a German night fighter during a mission to Bochum and crashed near Schaarsbergen. Robert Weese is buried at the Canadian War Cemetery in Groesbeek. The inscription on his gravestone reads: “WE SHALL REMEMBER ALWAYS. YOU SACRIFICED ALL FOR US AND FOR THE HOPE OF PEACE”.
