Sergeant Williams enlisted in the Queen’s Royal Regiment during the Second World War. Recognized for his exceptional prowess in close-quarters combat, he was later selected to join the elite Small Scale Raiding Force (SSRF). At just 22 years old, Williams was the youngest operative involved in Operation Aquatint.
Tragically, during the course of the raid, he sustained injuries from shrapnel and drowned shortly thereafter.
