“During a counterattack south of Lake Ladoga Oberleutnant der Reserve Werner Flack captured his ordered objective at the head of his Breslauer Jäger-Kompanie despite the heaviest of enemy fire. After realizing that a hill still under Soviet control was endangering the newly recaptured position, he thrust further forwards on his own initiative and also wrested this from the hands of the numerically superior Russians.”
