Flocke’s Knight’s Cross recommendation reads as follows…

“Leutnant Flocke distinguished himself on the 12.02.1945 through his courage and ruthlessness. With only his 40-man strong Kompanie he held Bocksberg against a tenfold superior enemy that had vastly more artillery and tanks. In doing so he decisively contributed to preventing the intended enemy breakthrough towards the north at the boundary between the two Bataillonen, which in turn ensured that the enemy did not reach the Geybach valley.

By this the right wing of the left neighbour, the Division’s lynchpin, was held. Flocke has also repeatedly proven himself in a similar manner through his ruthless dedication to duty on the battlefield.”
