Hans-Hermann Riedel served in both the World Wars.
For his actions during World War one (Infanterie-Regiment 75?) he received the Eisernes Kreuz 2.Klasse 1914, the Bremer Hanseatenkreuz 1915-1918, the Austrian Weltkriegserinnerungsmedaille 1914-1918, the Hungarian Erinnerungsmedaille 1914-1918, the Bulgarian Erinnerungsmedaille 1914-1918 and the Verwundetenabzeichen im Schwarz (1918).
