"As the commander of a Mitchell-bomber of Royal Dutch Navy 320 Squadron in the United Kingdom, during a daytome attack on an enemy airfield near Brest on October 25th 1943, has acted in a brave and professional way, after his plane was thrown on its back by the exploding of his Group-Commanders plane, and went into a deep dive, being able to get his heavily damaged plane out of the dive, getting it under control, taking it out of the heavy anti-aircraft fire, giving the orders for helping the heavily wounded machinegunner, striaghtening his planes flight and briging it down with an excellent emergency landing."
