Citation:
"Lieutenant General V.S. Bodrov, Red Army, distinguished himself as Commander of Artillery, Thirty-Third Red Army. The plans and studies initiated by him substantially assisted in the successful operations which resulted in the junction of the forces of the Thirty-Third Red Army and the Ninth United States Army on 30th April 1945 in the vicinity of the American Elbe bridgehead in Germany. This junction of forces contributed materially to the Allied war effort and the final capitulation of the German Army. General Bodrov's outstanding performance of duty reflects great credit upon himself and the Soviet Union."
