    Biography

Amongst other things, Jan served with the Carpathian Brigade in 1940/41 (becoming a Rat of ToBruk with the 9th Division). This was after he fled Harbin, China (apparently driving with exiled associates) at the start of World War Two, where he had been working as a Polish Diplomat to China and India. Jan's possessions were left to Erroll John Hay, by his wife Kathleen. Post World War two, Jan emigrated to Sydney, Australia.

Jan gifted his war journals and his Croix de Guerre to the Polish Embassy in Australia around 1984-5.
