Citation:
"For meritorious achievement while participating in an aerial flight over Dagus Airdrome, New Guinea, on 18 August 1943, Sergeant Blauer was the radio operator-gunner in the crew of a B-25 which was taking part in a minimum altitude bombing and strafing strike against the airdrome. When enemy fighters intercepted the formation, he fired approximately 150 rounds into one of the hostile planes and send it crashing to the ground in flames. The courage and devotion to duty displayed by Sergeant Blauer during this flight reflect great credit on the United States Amry Air Froces."
