Sergeant, Air Gunner, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, 7 Sqdn. Son of Bertram and Kathleen Elsie Hurst. Husband of Mary Agnes Hurst, of Nottingham.
Killed on 16 December 1943 during a mission to Berlin. After taking off from RAF Oakington, his Lancaster JA853 MG-L was attacked by a night fighter over Friesland and crashed near Follega, Friesland.
All seven crew members were killed. Two of them remained missing. Raymond Hedges is buried at the General Cemetery in Lemmer.
