Biography

Flight Sergeant, Air Gunner, Royal Australian Air Force, Squadron RAF. Son of John Johnston McWha and Jane Cecilia McWha, from New Farm, Queensland, Australia.

Killed on 16 December 1943 during a mission to Berlin. After taking off from RAF Oakington, his Lancaster JA853 MG-L was attacked by a night fighter over Friesland and crashed near Follega, Friesland.

All seven crew members were killed. Two of them remained missing. Reginald McWha is buried at the General Cemetery in Lemmer. His gravestone bears the inscription: 'HE GAVE HIS LIFE THAT WE MIGHT LIVE, A GREATER GIFT NO MAN CAN GIVE'
