Sergeant (Navigator John Garret Vaughan Williams.
He was killed at 0.115 on Saturday 26 June 1943 while on a mission to Gelsenkirchen in Germany. Following an attack by a night fighter, their Lancaster R5572-ZN-M crashed near the village of Baak. He and the rest of the crew were buried in Steenderen General Cemetery. One crew member managed to leave the aircraft and was taken prisoner of war.
