"Major Ronald Stephen King, Royal Artillery Regiment, British Army, performed meritorious services in connection with military operations as Assistant Chief, G-3, SHAEF Mission to the Netherlands, from 27 March to 8 May 1945. Major King was directly responsible for the entire process of recruiting, transporting, feeding, clothing, housing and training of Netherlands Army units recruited from the newly liberated areas amid terrific obstacles and difficulties. At risk to his life, Major King went afield within the battle zone to recruit. His intense loyalty and his utter disregard for his own safety and welfare resulted in the extraordinary success his section attained, and the manner in which Major King performed these duties brought great credit upon himself and the Allied forces.
