"During an attack by the Lake Superior Regiment on Bretteville Le Babet, Lieut. Murray's platoon was the right-hand platoon of the right company. Fire was heavy on this flank and they had to contend with frontal fire from the town and also fierce enfilade fire form their flank. Nevertheless Lieut.Murray led his platoon with such vigor and dash that he outran the fire of his supporting tanks. At one point the enemy, in a well dug-in position, was waiting for the supporting fire to lift beofre they exposed themselves. Noticing this, Lieut. Murray rushed in through his own barrage and personally accounted for one machine gun post and two snipers."
