Biography

Arthur Desmond Dinnis was the son to Arthur Dinnis and Annie Dinnis. He was killed as Air Gunner with the rank of Sergeant in No. 83 Squadron on March 5th, 1943.
Together with Pilot, Pilot Officer Henry A. Partridge (J/16966, RCAF, MIA - Runnymede Memorial - Panel 177), Flight Engineer, Sergeant. Roy O. Fulton (R/87122, RCAF, KIA - Hindeloopen Protestant Churchyard, Grave D-1-6, Navigator, Flying Officer, Leonard W. Sprackling, (1284393 - 116671, RAFVR, KIA - Workum Cemetery - Grave D-1-9, Sergeant, Hayden Fell (1379924, RAFVR, MIA - Runnymede Memorial, Panel 149), Sergeant, John M. Freshwater (1376200, RAFVR, MIA - Runnymede Memorial, Panel 150), Air Gunner and Sergeant John L. Organ (541922, RAF, KIA - Hindeloopen Protestant Churchyard, Grave D-1-5), he was part of the crew of Avro Lancaster Mk.I, W4847, "OL-V", which crashed in the IJsselmeer, the Netherlands on March 5th, 1943 during a mission to Essen.
