    Klaus Ewerth was killed on December 20th, 1943, West of Madeira at 32.54N / 37.01W when the "U 850" was sunk by planes of the U.S.S. Bogue. At that moment he had sunk four ships with a total tonnage of 21.699BRT in four operational sails (107 days at sea).
