Biography

Andrew Fiarbairn was educated at Ardingly school, west Sussex Before styding history at Trinity College, Cambridge.
During WW2 he won the Military Cross after leading a platoon which, although outnumbered, captured a vital bridge in Normandy, along with some of the enemy
After the war he had e career in education in Leicestershire from which he retired in 1984.
Andrew Fairbairn died aged 85 after a fall.
