Enrico Kubbe has displayed tact and courage during his internment as a PoW in Camp Tavoy and Camp Thambyuzajat in Burma by having gathered parts for, constructed and operated a wireless device in co-operation with 1st Lieutenant P.A. Koors, militia Sergeant H.B. Veenhuijzen and Landstorm soldier E.A. Kleinenberg in the period from 1942 to the end of 1943. By doing so, although knowing this could have extremely serious consequences, they provided the camp with dependable information and boosted the morale, surely having served the interest of the Netherlands.
