    update july 2025:
    About 50 prisoners remained in the camp because they were too ill for the long march, but they were shot dead on April 6, 1945, by returning SS guards. The camp's author, Gerhard Grande, witnessed this and also appeared as such in the post-war trials. He wrote: "On April 6, 1945, this camp was evacuated and the prisoners transported to Bergen-Belsen. The sick comrades were killed by a shot in the neck."
    Among the 50 prisoners murdered on April 6 were several Dutchmen.
