Lived in Delft, Hof van Delftlaan 101. Son of Bernardus Hollander (head of shipping at the Dutch Cable Factory) and Aaltje van Zelst. Unmarried. Student. Dutch Reformed.
As part of the compulsory labour programme, he worked in Germany for some time. He did not return after his leave and went into hiding on the farm of fruit grower Jan Prins. Member of the resistance since September 1944 and member of the L.O. and the Binnenlandse Strijdkrachten Oosthuizen. He was arrested by the Feldgendarmerie on 27 March 1945 on the Prins farm. He was first transferred to the detention centre in Alkmaar, together with Arie Prins and Gerrit Hoogstraaten, and then to the Sipo headquarters in Amsterdam.
On 11 April 1945, Hollander was executed by firing squad in Zijpe along with Arie Prins and Gerrit Hoogstraaten in retaliation for the sabotage of a bridge deck in Zijpe. Their bodies were temporarily buried in a mass grave in the dunes near Overveen.
His name is on the monument De Opgeheven Hand (The Raised Hand) near Burgerbrug.
A street in Midden Beemster has been named after him.
