    Biography

    Abraham Cornelis Bakker lived in Voorburg. He was born on November 8th, 1892 as son to Jacob Bakker and Elisabeth de Blinde. He was married to Emma Johanna Letsch (December 26th, 1892, Scheveningen). Abraham worked as steward on board the m.s. Modjokerto belinging to the Rotterdamse Lloyd, which was torpedoed on March 1st, 1942 by the Japanese submarine I 54. together with other survivors he was picked up and taken to Kendari on Celebes. On March 24th, 1942 he was executed at Kendari.
