Cyril Charles Leger lived at 23 Beatrixplantsoen in Bussum. He was the son of mining engineer Liepman Leger (December 12, 1883 Amsterdam - † ?) and Elsje Visschraper (September 2, 1883 Amsterdam - † December 8, 1962 Vlaardingen) He was electrotechnical engineer at the Nederlandse Seintoestellenfabriek NSF. He was of the Catholic faith.
He ended up in the Polizeiliches Durchgangslagher Amersfoort (PDA) and registered as prisoner 1972. He was shot during an alleged attempt at escape. His name is on display on a memorial plague on the Gedenk te Sterven cemetery in Hilversum. The memorial was stolen however in 2011.
According to the War Graves Foundation, it is unknown where he has been buried. This could be the Dutch-Israeli cemetery in Amersfoort, just like Willem Polak (26) who was shot while trying to escape. The exact location of the Jewish prisoners who died in the PDA is unknown however.
