    Biography

    John James Evans lived in Australia. He was born on September 5th, 1909 in Liverpool as son to Arthur Edward and Elizabeth Evans from Anfield/Liverpool. He enlisted on June 12th, 1940 at Royal Park in Victoria, Australia and served as Corporal with 2/21 Australian Infantry Battalion (Gull Force). He was part of the troops defending Laha airfield on Ambon. When the fighting was over on February 2nd, 1942, he was reported as missing in action. He was formally declared dead on February 20th, 1942.
