Charles Bongaerts was the brother of Jo Bongaerts.
He was deputy inspector of police and commander of the Heerlen firebrigade; he was a member of the KP in Heerlen and worked in particular for the help for pilots (Netwerk Bongaerts - Hannibal-Line / Hannibal-Spiel). He was arrested on November 6th ,1944, following provocation by a certain Vastenhout. He died November 23rd, 1944 in concentrationcamp Ladelund (Neuengamme) or Sandborstel.
