Son of Johannis Boogaard and Teuntje van Dijk, was married to Metje van Cuijlenborg. Arrested on 6 October 1943 for harbouring Jewish people in hiding. Incarcerated in Camp Vught, released from there on 5 August 1944 and died on 25 September 1944 as a result of hardships suffered in Vught.
