    Biography

    Wladyslaw Majcher fled via Hungary to Syria, where he joined the Polish Army. He fought at Tobruk, Gazala, Sangro and Monte Cassino. On 22 May 1944, Majcher died of his wounds on Hill 553, near Monte Cassino.
