Biography

Klaas van Wal was stationed in Bandoeng with the cavalry KNIL and served in Java, in the Dutch East Indies Campaign. He was captured by the Japanese Army in Bandoeng on 8 March 1942 and made a Prisoner Of War. He was transferred to the Burma-Thailand Railway where he died in the Kuiye POW Camp on 18 September 1943.
