Biography

Major Barton-Tales was killed in an air accident on its journey to the Far East.

April 1942: Transferred to Royal Corps of Signals to perform special duties in cipher work, first in the Special Communications Unit with the Middle East General Headquarters based in Cairo and then with the Eighth Army HQ in North Africa
