"2/Lt STOJOWSKI was on 11 Apr 45 ordered with his platoon to recce TER APEL/HOLLAND MR 552758/, where he met heavy enemy resistance which prevented him from entering the village. During the night 2/Lt STOJOWSKI took on of his sections, crossed the canal in a boat under enemy fire and succeeded in penetrating into TER APEL. This unexpected action demoralised the German garrison and they withdrew under cover of darkness, thus allowing our troop to occupy TER APEL unopposed."
