Biography

Ivy and her sister Louisa sheltered Soviet forced laborers during the German occupation of the Channel Islands. The Geheime Feldpolizei arrested the two sisters and their brother Harold in 1944. Louisa died in Ravensbrück, while Harold survived Bergen-Belsen. Ivy served her prison sentence in Jersey on grounds of fabricated health issues, which made it possible for her to avoid deportation.

The Soviet forced laborers survived the war.

Her brother Harold and sister Louisa were also recipients of the British Hero of the Holocaust award.

We pay tribute to them for the inspiration they provide now and for future generations to come."
