All orders issued to him has been exemplary. All orders issued to him in battle were quickly and efficiently carried out. At EL GUBI on D2 he fought a Squadron engagement with 5 M13 tanks which was well planned and efficiently and successfully carried out. Two of the enemy tanks were set on fire and the crews of all five them surrendered. At the end of the engagement on the left flank of the SOUTH AFRICAN DIVISION Nov 23, he took his Regimental Commander on board his tank and unhesitatingly returned to the battle area in a search for any surviving men or tanks of the Regiment. He is very strongly recommended."
