"Arakan On the night 22nd-23rd November this officer by a skilful night march crossed the Ton Chaung and surrounded a Japanese platoon in Hinthaya. He led the troop to the assault at dawn, achieving complete surprise. He drove the enemy from strong bunker positions. His troop killed 6, wounded 8 and took one live Jap prisoner. Capt Garner-Jones himself accounted for several of the enemy. During this action he was everywhere exposing himself without the least regard for personal danger.He inspired his men by his courage and his sound tactics.
