Biography

Wilhelm Fischer was a member of the crew of Junkers JU 88G-1 (construction number 714277) of 5. Staffel, Nachtjagdgeschwader 1, which was shot down near Barneveld on 1 January 1945 by Arthur David Mercer and Flight Lieutenant John Bernard Lyke of No. 268 Squadron. Initially, his body was buried at Algemene Begraafplaats Heidehof in Ughelen. On 3 May 1949, he was reburied at Ysselsteyn.
