Robert, was born in Zurich, Switzerland on Feb 3, 1896 and immigrated to the Philippines shortly after World War I as a Swiss citizen. After World War II he immigrated to the USA and died an American citizen on Feb 27, 1961 in Kentucky, USA.

"Citation for Medal of Freedom

Mr. Robert C. Peyer, Citizen of the Philippine Commonwealth. For meritorious service which has aided the United States in the prosecution of the war against Japan in the Southwest Pacific Area, from 1942 to 1944. Upon the Japanese occupation of the Philippine Islands, Mr. Peyer displayed outstanding courage and marked resourcefulness in providing food, clothing, and money for American prisoners of war and internees. Although under the constant watch of the Japanese, Mr. Peter, by his inspiring bravery, resourcefulness, and devotion to duty, made a distinct contribution to the welfare and morale of American prisoners of war."
