"This airman has carried out 450 hours operational flying, involving patrols, convoy escorts and. numerous successful attacks on enemy shipping. In October, 1941, he participated in a highly successful raid on shipping and obtained direct hits on one of the enemy's vessels from a height of only 20
feet. Violent explosions occurred inside the ship, causing a burst of flame and portions of the deck to be hurled into the air. Sergeant Ramsey has at all times pressed home his attacks with the greatest determination."
