"Has distinguished himself by performing particularly courageous and tactful acts in the battle against the enemy, by, after landing as one of the first parachutist organizers by parachute from England onto occupied Dutch territory on June 13, 1941, under particularly difficult circumstances, fully devoting himself to his task and improving and expanding the reporting to England. Furthermore, by tactfully establishing connections with various intelligence groups and, although many people in his vicinity were captured by the enemy, by continuing his work, finally, when after August 31, 1941, due to the capture of his assigned parachutist telegraphist, he was no longer able to establish direct contact with England, on or around November 21, 1941 he attempted to cross to England by small boat, where he arrived, however, no later than November 21, 1941."
