Recommendation:
She has distinguished herself by courageous and tactful conduct in connection with enemy action, thereby serving the interests of the Kingdom. A staff quarters of the Kriegsmarine had been established in her home in Tiel on September 18, 1944 and she and her family had been allowed to live in the upper story. Accepting great risks and while her husband kept the Germans occupied, she frequently took away military information and even staff maps containing notes of a military nature from this Staff Quarter and took them to the local commander of the O.D. so he could copy the notes and subsequently she put the maps back.
Finally by refusing to leave her home when the enemy offered her a home in the nearby village of Zoelen, in order to ensure that this source of information could be maintained until she was mortally injured during an artillery barrage on her house.
