Biography

Timothy was born on September 4 1918 in Killaloe, Ontario as the son of Cornelius and Isabella (Bella) Harrington-Carty. His brothers were Earl, Thomas, Harold, Leonard, Gerald, Joseph, Omer and Orville Harrington. And his sisters were: Mrs. E.R. Smich, Mrs. Ken Walsh, Mrs. J.A. Maxwell, Ms. Isabel and Ms. Therese Harrington.
His profession was miner, farmer and press helper and he was member of the Roman Catholic Church. His hobbies were: hockey, baseball, hunting and automobile mechanics.
He enlisted on May 15 1942 in Hamilton Ontario.
Timothy was killed in action on Saturday September 23 1944 age 26 due to a crash near Wierden whether on his way back or underway with the Lancaster L.L. 914 to attack the town of Münster in Germany and he was thereafter buried at the general cemetery in Wierden. Some crew members were missed afterwards: Pilot officer William Begg, RAF and his name on the Runnymade Memorial in England, panel 204, Sgt Eric Haskins, RAF and his name on the Runnymade Memorial, panel 231, Flight Sgt Harold Herbert Joseph Bromley, RAF and his name on the Runnymade Memorial, panel 216 and Sgt James Moreton, RAF and his name on the Runnymade Memorial, panel 234.
And also buried at the general cemetery of this crew in Wierden: Sgt Archibald Donald Jones, RAF, Row A Joint grave 12 and Sgt Frederick Wilcock, RAF, Row A grave 13.
Timothy served with the 9 (RAF) squadron Royal Canadian Airforce.
