Biography

Frederick was killed in action on Saturday September 23 1944 due a crash near Wierden whether on his way back or underway with the Lancaster L.L. 914 to attack the town of Münster in Germany and he was thereafter buried at the general cemetery in Wierden. Some crew members were missed afterwards: Pilot officer William Begg, RAF and his name on the Runnymade Memorial in England, panel 204, Sgt Eric Haskins, RAF and his name on the Runnymade Memorial, panel 231, Flight Sgt Harold Herbert Joseph Bromley, RAF and his name on the Runnymade Memorial, panel 216 and Sgt James Moreton, RAF and his name on the Runnymade Memorial, panel 234.
And also buried of this crew at the general cemetery in Wierden: The Canadian Pilot officer Timothy Harrington Row A Coll. 12 and Sgt A.D. Jones a crew member too of the RAF Volunteer Reserve was buried in the same collective grave.
Frederick served with the 9 Sqdn Royal Airforce Volunteer Reserve.
