Awarded for his successful anti-tank defense while fighting in the area of the 77. Infanterie-Division. As a Flak Batterie commander his two 88 mm guns knocked out 28 Sherman tanks in just 2 days and disabled 4 others. Marscholek personally knocked out 21 tanks of this total.
